Well ya'll the day is hear. It's show time!  Our first fashion show that is.

FRESH + LOCAL = into the future back to the earth!  Featuring the fresh designs of 7 local designers approximately 40 handmade looks.  Local farm fresh food from 4 farm-to-table restaurants and an eclectic array of tunes provided by local musicians.  Fresh music. Some never playing live together before and some only a few times. Absolutely fresh (new, different, inexperienced, full of energy, pure, cool) and completely local.

There will be a silent auction where people will have the opportunity to bid on select items they saw in the show. A portion of those proceeds along with 80% of the $10 cover charge will benefit the local non-profit Acadiana Food Circle whose mission is to connect our community to it's resources of fresh + local food from local farmers and the restaurants offering seasonal menus cooked from this fresh bounty available to us right here in Acadiana. What better way to express what we are trying to do than joining forces with a local non-profit organization like AFC. A resource like AFC, that informs the community on smart choices for your family and the environment while it supports eating our locally grown food, is something that we ladies at the mercantile want to support and want to share. We want to help get the word out for all to have the opportunity to benefit from the hard work and effort of our local farmers and friends. While supporting their labor of love and ours too.

Honestly folks I don't even know what to expect other than it's gonna be bold, happy, and good!  One of the best parts... it's a true reflection of our community, family and friends coming together to create something great while showing what we can do right in our own backyards (or front porches), literally.
